On Christmas Day I got an amazing surprise gift from my mother. She got me a We R Memory Keepers Laser Square (**affiliate link)! I had seen it on Facebook and shared about it, but I didn’t really expect to get it! I was a tad excited, as you can see.

My Review of the Laser Square and Mat

First let me say, I have not been asked to review this product. These are my own thoughts and experiences with the Laser Square and Mat.

A review of the We R Memory Keepers Laser Square and Mat. It's a linear scrapbooker's dream come true! #scrapbooking #tools

I have always been a pretty linear scrapper. I like straight lines and grid designs. So I was pretty excited to give the Laser Square a try. It’s wonderful for lining up photos and creating a grid design. I also found it extremely useful for keeping my letter stickers straight when creating a title.

Without a doubt my favorite way to use this tool is to follow a straight line when adding my handwritten journaling. I spent many years typing my journaling because I wanted things perfectly straight. After awhile I got tired of that and started handwriting my journaling. But it would always bother me if things went a bit downhill as I wrote. Now they won’t! And I love it!

I haven’t found a ton of cons with this product. There are only a couple of things I can think of, one is that it takes two 9V batteries. Hopefully those will last awhile and won’t need regular replacement. The other is that it takes a bit of space on your scrap desk. That doesn’t really bother me, but may be an issue for some. Overall I really like this product and am so glad to add it to my scrapbooking tools!

Do you have a We R Memory Keepers Laser Square and Mat? Wanting one? I’m sure I’m not the only linear scrapper out there! 🙂

My Handsome Boys

When you have photos with the men in your life and everyone is all dolled up you simply have to scrapbook them. Not much of a story to go along with these pics. But sometimes the smiles are enough!

  • Color Inspiration: I loved the sheet of arrow paper and have been wanting to use it for awhile. Since it coordinated with my photos I decided now was the time!

Washi tape, wood veneer and enamel dots…all my favorites in one place! *sigh*

This layout was simply fun to create. And we all need a bit of that in our lives!

Love U Miss U

It’s hard to lose someone you love. Especially when that someone is your Dad. I didn’t really have words when I created this layout, but I wanted to document one of the best photos I have of my Dad.

I didn't really have words when I created this layout, but I wanted to document one of the best photos I have of my Dad. #scrapbooking #layoutDesign Inspiration: I was inspired by the sheet of bingo card paper I had. I loved the colors, and the words that were at the top of the cards.
  • Color Inspiration: The colors on the bingo cards were so bright I decided to use black paper for the background.

I used a bit of washi tape and wooden people to represent a Daddy’s girl with the first man she loved. 🙂 In addition to being sentimental it helps to balance the layout.

I used two black banners to house the title. I also used some red numbers to give a nod to the date Dad passed (7/3/15). It’s subtle but it means something to me.

As much as I miss my Dad this layout doesn’t make me sad. I’m so glad I took time to create something just for him!
