Last summer my youngest went to a week long camp called Jr Camp for the first time. Prior to that his Dad had gone with him and it was only two nights. I’m not sure if you can tell by the photos, but I’m pretty sure he had fun!
I wasn’t at camp, but thankfully they take lots of photos during the week and upload them to a Shutterfly album after the event. So I’m still able to scrapbook camp even when I’m not there. Love that!
To create the photo block I went with my old standby, 4×6 photo templates. I love pairing one full 4×6 photo with a 4×6 collage. I use this process to create my photo templates.
I was inspired by these acetate squares I got on sale awhile ago. I loved the colors and thought the words went well with the theme of the layout. I used them to build out a nice grid design. And since I’ve got enamel dots coming out of my ears, I was easily able to find matching dots for each square. It was an easy way to cover up the little bit of adhesive I used to stick the squares down.
I’m all about simple handwritten journaling. Just a few words to document my perspective on his week away.
I love documenting these bits and pieces of my children’s lives!
