This summer a few of my best college girlfriends met in Chicago for the weekend. It was so much fun chatting with these ladies, some of whom I hadn’t seen in almost 15 years! I loved every minute, and knew I had to document the photos.
- Design Inspiration: When I was looking at Lisa Truesdell’s class Start Here I saw this photo. It was a kit of sorts that she had created before starting her layout. But to me it was design inspiration all in itself!
- Color Inspiration: Chicago is not near the ocean but it does have a beach. I thought the water and sand made perfect inspiration for my color palette.
I pulled pieces of blue paper to to mimic the look of waves and paired it with a nice neutral sheet the color of sand. Bits of gold accent brought the sand color over to the right side of the layout as well.
The title probably makes no sense to you, because it’s a bit of an inside joke. My college didn’t have fraternities or sororities, but each hall had a name. Our hall was called Shalom. And throughout our college years each of our functions started with “Shalom Does…”. So it only seemed fitting that this layout would follow the tradition. 🙂
So much fun with these ladies! I can’t wait to do it again!
