My One Little Word for 2017 is Create. I’ve been missing scrapbooking and I think it’s time to get back to it! I started with some photos I took over break documenting a day of kindness we did. It was so much fun, and may just become a tradition!
- Design Inspiration: I loved this layout by Jen Chapin from her class Start with a Sketch at Big Picture Classes. The grid design was bright and fun.
- Color Inspiration: I went with bright colors and a neutral background. I felt that it allowed the photos to shine.
This day of kindness was inspired by a project my cousin put together. He created these Connected by Kindness cards and a corresponding website. The idea is that you do an act of kindness in honor of someone and then pass on the card. The hope is that others will pay the kindness forward and pass the card on as well. If people go in and document the kindnesses on the website we can start to see how it’s spreading. It’s a fun idea and we had fun giving an entire day in honor of it. I loved including one of the actual cards on the layout!
I spread a bit of purple and hearts around the layout to create a visual triangle. It was like spreading bits of love here and there. 🙂
When we did our act of kindness day I shared some thoughts on Facebook. So I simply took those words and used them as my journaling.
I love how this layout turned out! And I love that we were able to do something to honor three very special people that we have loved and lost.
