My husband is a Star Wars fanatic! So when the new Star Wars movie came out he couldn’t wait to take the boys to their first Star Wars movie in the theater. And I couldn’t wait to scrap our Star Wars fun!
- Design Inspiration: I was inspired by this layout in Cari Orellana’s class Bold Backgrounds. This challenge was to use a busy background with a large photo.
- Color Inspiration: This paper reminded me of light sabers so I figured it was the perfect fit for this layout. The bright colors mixed with black and white just made me happy!
My husband really wanted us all to dress in costume. I was less excited about that so we compromised with themed t-shirts. Oh the things we do for love! And I totally asked someone else to use my phone to snap a picture.
I kept the journaling and the title simple by using a 3×4 journal card and some letter stickers.
To add a bit more color and fun I included a handful of colorful stars with some word stickers. I also used a strip of washi tape between the photo and the patterned paper. It gave a nice solid dividing line between the photo and the bright paper.
This layout may be simple, but I adore it! I love that I have a fun family photo documented along with a special moment in our lives.
