My boys love going to church camp. When my oldest was 9 years old he went away for a full week, without Mom or Dad. We missed him terribly, but he loved every minute of Jr Camp!
Design Inspiration: In my BPC class Scrapbooking Outside the Pocket I talk about pairing 4×6 photos with 3×4 journaling cards. I used that same design principle on this layout as well. So simple!
- Color Inspiration: Several of the photos had grey and green so I used that to inspire my color choices.
I was only able to snap a couple of photos before my son was shoving me out the door. 🙂 So grateful for social media, and having friends at camp that would send me pics of my kid! As I frequently do I used a full size 4×6 photo along with a photo collage. (If you want to make your own follow my simple photo collage tutorial)
For my journaling I created a list about what my son loved about camp and what I loved. I alternated ink colors to differentiate between the two.
I actually created this layout just after he returned from camp…2 summers ago!! I’m so glad I have this story documented because I never would have remembered these little moments if I hadn’t written them down at the time!
In the bottom corner I added a word sticker, some washi tape and a few enamel dots. This layout came together in no time, and is a wonderful way to remember my son’s first week away at camp!
