Easy Birthday Scrapbook Album Update

Have you ever wanted to put together a simple way to document the birthdays in your life? With my new class, Super Simple Celebration Scrapbooks I can show you how!

This weekend my youngest son celebrated his 7th birthday. Hard to believe he’s getting so big! I thought I’d pop in with an update on his birthday scrapbook album.

I don’t have this weekend’s pictures scrapped yet (I’m not that good). But I realized I never shared his 6th birthday spread with you all. So I thought we could revisit this simple and easy way to scrapbook every birthday party in one fun album!

This birthday scrapbook album is just a 2 up photo album. Each year gets two spreads. One to introduce the theme and one to document the party. I use self adhesive tabs to mark each year. And my son LOVES looking through this album.

For his 6th birthday he had a spiderman swim party. For those of you that might be confused what that is, we swam and he had spiderman cupcakes. 🙂

To go with the swim theme I created a title page with wavy blue paper and a scrap of sunshine paper. Stamp on the 6 and I’ve got a perfect page to introduce the photos from his 6th birthday party.

Next to the title page I always put a candle photo and a photo of the cake. In this case we weren’t allowed to do candles at the birthday party. So I used a photo of our cake and candles at home on his actual birthday but also included the party cupcakes.

The second spread holds all of our party photos and details. Photo collages (tutorial here) and simple journaling is all it takes to complete the birthday spread.

I cut enough journaling cards for all 18 birthdays when I began the album. So they are ready and waiting each year when I begin working on the album.

I always try to take a photo of each child at the party and include their names in the journaling. No matter how much you think you will remember who you were friends with, time has taught me that it slips away.

I also take pictures of each present he opens so that we can later remember the gifts that he loved.

Seriously 30 minutes and I’m totally done scrapping his birthday party. I love that part SO MUCH!
