I’ve had a rash of baby showers lately so today I’m sharing a fun baby gift. It’s so easy to create unique 12 month baby onesies!
Begin by opening Photoshop Elements and drawing four 3.5 inch circles. I like to use the grid feature to be sure everything is the correct size. I also added some guidelines to find the center of each circle.
Choose your favorite font and type the numbers as well as the word month(s). Move the numbers and words around until they are centered in the circle.
Open four of your favorite digital papers. I choose to use the same pattern but in different colors.
Click on the first circle to select it in the layers palette. Then drag and drop the first paper onto the file. Downsize the paper until it is just slightly larger than the circle.
Create a clipping mask by going to Layer…Create Clipping Mask. Or by using the shortcut Ctrl/Cmnd G.
Continue adding and clipping paper to each of your circles.
I wanted to give each of the circles a bit of finished detail so I added some digital stitching. It helps the iron on image to look like it’s stitched on the onesie. Continue until you have circles for all 12 months.
Now it’s time to print out the circles onto some Square1 Iron On.
Trim around the circles to prepare them for adhering to the onesies.
Place the circle onto the onesie.
Iron the circle onto the onesie following the Square1 directions. Set the iron to Med/High cotton with NO STEAM. Press the circle for 10-15 secs to be sure all sides are bonded to the onesie.
And there you have a lovely onesie for baby’s one month picture.
It’s hard to know exactly what size the baby will be each month. So I purchased several onesies in each size (3m, 6m, 9m, and 12m). Because of the number of onesies in each package there are a couple of extras as well. I chose not to iron on the rest of the circles to allow the Mama to use the size that will actually fit each month.
Once the onesies are all added to the box be sure to give the Mommy-to-Be directions for how to iron on the circles. Your gift will be sure to be a winner!
