Monday was our August installment of Inspiration to Creation LIVE! If you’ve never attended one of these events I show you my scrapbook inspiration and then take you through the process of creating a layout from start to finish. So many fun scrapbook layout ideas come out of these sessions!
We had lots of fun! Chatted, laughed, and of course…scrapbooked! If you missed the live version, you can watch the replay below. But first let me show you the scrapbook layout I created!
- Scrapbook Design Inspiration: I saw this poster on Pinterest and fell in love. I felt totally inspired to create a layout.
- Scrapbook Color Inspiration: I just chose colors from my scrap drawer that I love. I especially looked for papers that had a tone on tone pattern. I knew that the design would be busy enough so I wanted to stay away from bold patterns.
I began with pattern paper strips that were between 3/4 in and 1 1/4 in wide. Then I just lined each strip up in my paper trimmer to cut them into triangles. Once I had all my strips I began layering them into a sunburst with the points in the middle.
I wanted the journaling to stand out without significantly cutting into the sunburst. Vellum was the perfect solution. I love the space it provides for my story while still letting the design shine through.
If you want the full Inspiration to Creation LIVE experience, watch the replay below. We will be doing this on the first Monday of every month. Our next session will be Sept. 2. I know that is Labor Day but I still plan to be scrapping away. Hope you can join us in September!
