I am slowly but surely plugging away at finishing the assignments for the Cathy Z class I took. It’s all done, but I still have half of the lessons to finish. 🙂 This one is one of my favorites scrapbook layout ideas so far!
- Scrapbook Design Inspiration: Once again, the design is straight from the Clean & Simple workshop with Cathy Z. I love how I was able to document 10 photos on one 12×12 page! This class is now done, but there are so many amazing classes at Big Picture. You should totally check them out!
- Scrapbook Color Inspiration: I just went with my happy colors. I love orange and green. Combined with a classic white, this combo is a win for me every time!
Here’s what I love most about this layout…the vellum pockets! In the inspiration layout the pockets were cut from cardstock. With the vellum the beauty of the photos shine through. Love, love, love!
Each pocket holds a photo and a story. They are adhered back to back. Sometimes I let the photo show and other times I let the story show, but both are there in every pocket.
Story on one side, photo on the other. So fun! This entire layout is pretty much a day in our life. In fact it was the first day of summer for us. Love having the little moments of this day in my scrapbook!
To add a little bit of my embellishment loving self I added some stamping and enamel dots. And because this was a layout about the first day of summer I really wanted to add the word summer to the title card. None of my letter stickers worked quite right so I just hand wrote the word in black ink.
What a fun “typical” (if there is such a thing) day in our summer life!
Do you ever scrap with pockets on your page? What is your favorite use of pockets in scrapbooking?
