I love quick and easy layouts. And Cathy Zielske’s class Clean & Simple the Workshop really helped me get some fun, easy layouts done. I’ll admit, I got WAY behind and still have several weeks to complete, but I really love the layouts I DID get done.
- Design Inspiration: This design came from week 4 of Cathy’s class. I just loved the simplicity of it.
- Color Inspiration: I decided to go mostly monochromatic with this layout. Black and white photo, silver and white paper with just a few pops of color.
I’ve said by for, and I’ll say it again…I don’t scrap enough about my husband. Although he’s been featured a few times more recently. I love finding new ways to include him in my layouts.
Since I have much fewer photos of him throughout the day, I have to be much more intentional about snapping shots of him too when we are together. For example, the photo on this layout came from a recent soccer game. The story of the page has nothing to do with soccer, but because I’m just scrapping general thoughts about him I can easily use this photo to illustrate the story.
The journal block also came from the class. I love using a simple list to add journaling. This list shares a few adjectives about my amazing husband.
The inspiration layout used digital washi tape that she printed out and added to her layout. With as much washi tape as I own, I decided to just use the real stuff.
This process of creating more hybrid-y layouts has been a ton of fun. Although the class is officially over, I am still planning to work through the remaining weeks. I can’t wait to finish up the Cathy Z layout ideas.
Do you hybrid? What are your favorite hybrid techniques?
