What Makes Me ME

I have always been a hybrid girl. Meaning I use my computer in some point of my scrapbooking process. I might edit my photos, or use a 4×6 digital template, and I always search for inspiration online. But I don’t often design the entire layout on my computer print it out and add in some paper. But that is exactly what happened this time because of a new class I’m taking, Clean & Simple by Cathy Zielske. Love finding inspiration through amazing classes!

  • Design Inspiration: Cathy Zielske’s new class Clean & Simple started yesterday. I am loving the idea of trying on someone else’s scrapbooking process! The design for this layout was inspired by the week one lesson. There is still time to sign up for this amazing class!
  • Color Inspiration: Since this layout is all about me I decided to start with my favorite color. Orange! Then I found a pattern paper I love right now that had some orange in it. Once I had that chosen I could look for a nice blue to compliment my color palette. Love it!

This arrow paper is so bright and happy! I just love how it points toward the photo of me, since this is a layout all about ME after all. Another way I made this layout my own was to use pattern paper as the background rather than cardstock. That is one of my go to design choices. I love tone on tone patterns as my background!

Many companies are adding these adorable branding strips to the bottom of their paper. Rather than trimming it off I cut a bit off the top of the paper instead and used the branding strip as a part of my design. I needed this layout to have a bit of embellishment so that it felt more like me. To make the wood veneer person match the layout I pressed it into an ink pad a few times to give it a fun color.

For the journaling I repeated the phrase “I am” and generated a list of the many things I am. It actually took a bit of thought to fill this box. I love this type of journaling. As Stacy Julian says, “no one can tell your story as well as YOU!” When was the last time you scrapped a layout about you? It’s time!
