I recently read a tutorial by Traci Reed all about adding video to Project Life. I’ve thought of doing this before, but had never taken the time to figure it out step by step. Traci’s tutorial really helped but since I use Photoshop Elements rather than Photoshop I thought I’d share the steps I used to add video to my Project Life spread!
See the funky black and white square? That is called a QR code. That code links to a video and can be scanned with a smart phone. Instant connection between your photos and the video that goes along with it. Here’s how you create the code:
- Upload your video. I used Youtube and set the video as unlisted. That means that no one can see the video unless they have the direct link. Click share and copy the link.
- Go to a QR Code Generator and paste the video link. Then download the code generated.
- Open the QR code in Photoshop Elements and add it to your photo. It might be a bit small. Just drag the corner to make it larger and fit your photo. That’s it!
Now grab your cell phone and open a scanner app. I use RedLaser. Scan the QR code with your phone.
The app then pulls up the video and allows you to watch it! I love having this adorable video connected to the story in my Project Life album. This will be happening more in my scrapbooks!
This spread also includes a birthday insert. We’ve had quite a busy March!
The beginning of the spread shows off some fun photos from spring break. Loved the warm weather.
Love the ability to add inserts for special days like birthdays! Yay for turning 8!
We actually had to cancel his party due to snow and have it a week later. So these photos didn’t happen during the time span of this spread. However, since I was creating a birthday themed insert I went ahead and added the photos here. I made note of that in the journaling, but I have no worries that the dates don’t match up perfectly.
And I just HAD to include the score sheet that shows how I smoked all the boys, including my hubby! Gotta keep record of that moment. 🙂
My husband’s birthday falls shortly after our oldest son. So his birthday pictures are in here too. It was a busy two weeks. 🙂
