Are you a paper crafter through and through? Do digital files make you break out in a sweat? Do you wish that you knew how to use all those adorable Project Life cards you see floating around the internet? I’m here to help! Let me show you how you can use digital products in your Project Life!
It seems like there are beautiful Project Life cards popping up everywhere. And I often hear paper scrappers saying that they just don’t know how to use those cards. I want to show you the two extremely easy ways you can put those digi cards to work for you!
Most digital designers include a PDF version of their files. Simply printing those PDFs is the easiest way to use the digital cards in your Project Life. A couple of things to be aware of…make sure your printer isn’t set to “shrink contents.” Often this is a checkbox on your print screen. It is also important to set the printer to print borderless. Both these settings will make your cards smaller than they should be. When you turn those settings off you will print the full size cards that fit perfectly into your Project Life. Then just trim your cards, round the corners and you are good to go! Typically when you purchase or download digital files you are also given a jpg or png file to use individually. Let me show you how to print out those files easily. (or you can upload and print them at Persnickety Prints. They will even round corners for you!)
You can even dress the cards up to look like Project Life title cards. I just take some Martha Stewart labels and add one to the 4×6 card.
Now it’s ready for the date or a stamped sentiment. Once it’s in your binder it looks just like the other date cards!
This year I am using calendar cards for the date, so on the date card I stamp a fun sentiment. Here’s how it looks in my album. Love it!
You can also meet your paper crafting heart’s needs by adding some embellishment to the cards. I used this card for my son’s birthday insert. So his age highlighted in glittery thickers seemed like a perfect addition.
Look at that sweet birthday smile! I love how well this card fits in with the theme of my page! Let me show you how well these digital cards work in my Project Life album.
I love doing inserts for birthdays. On the front of this one I highlight the actual day my son was born. On the backside I highlighted his birthday party. I only included a few details because the rest will go into his Birthday Album.
I love using digital products to spice up my Project Life. And now you can too!
