I’ve got a confession to make…these photos weren’t taken on the 12th…they weren’t even all taken this month! My day on the 12th felt too much like other days I’ve documented and I wanted to do something different. So in honor of Thanksgiving I decided to document 12 things I’m grateful for right now. And I went looking for 12 photos to represent those things. Some were taken this month, some were taken previously, but I’ve got 12 photos scrapped! And that’s what really counts!
- Design Inspiration: I saw this layout over at Studio Calico and fell in love! Not only did I love the idea behind the page, but I also loved the little file folder canvases she created for each photo!
- Color Inspiration: I wanted to go with fall colors for this layout. So many of the tones are similar to the inspiration layout, but without the blues.
I created my title using a variety of fonts. I’ve loved this woodgrain alpha by Amy Tangerine for awhile but never found the right layout to use it on. Today was the day!
To add a bit of interest to the bottom corner I stamped a couple of arrows. I didn’t have a brown ink so I used gray instead. Since I was stamping on a brown background the color still came out just right. Love that!
I used my Cricut and SCAL software to cut the individual file folders. I like the depth that pattern paper gives, as opposed to cardstock, so I used pattern paper for each one. But since there are so many I kept it simple by using tone on tone patterns. Then to dress them up a bit I add strips of paper or washi tape to each one. And I journaled on each little canvas with a mix of letter stickers and handwriting. It was a super fun take on a grid layout!!
