I’ve had a few (non-scrappy) deadlines going on in my life during the last two weeks so I got a bit behind on Project Life. But I’ve finally gotten that work done and turned in, which allowed me some time to get caught up. So today I’m here to show you the first two weeks of July.
When I’m trying to get caught up on Project Life I tend to use more full 4×6 photos and core kit journaling cards. I try to keep things extra simple for myself. But since there was a holiday this week I did include an insert as well.
Not having a girl of my own I just had to document my little niece playing hair parlor with me. Love that girl! 🙂
I took my own advice for fun fourth photos and took some shots of my boys with their cousins. What an adorable group of kids! (I’m not biased at all!)
The title block was the only place I allowed myself a bit of play. I love how the cameras turned out! So much red, white, and blue fun! 🙂
On the back of the insert I included some journaling about the day and a few firework photos. Still a fairly quick and easy insert!
Google was my friend on this page and provided me with the book cover for my son’s book club book as well as the movie poster for the movie we saw this week. Love including those little touches of ephemera!
I had LOTS more pictures this week, but some of them are going into a mini album so I still kept it pretty simple.
The week started with a trip to the zoo with my Mom and niece and nephew. This picture of the four cousins walking together is my favorite of the day!
The big story this week was the All Star Fan Fest. This year KC hosted the All Star game so I took the opportunity to take my boys to the Fan Fest. They were in baseball heaven. We practiced batting, pitching, sliding, got our very own baseball cards made, and enjoyed face painting. Love that the boys got to enjoy this once in a lifetime event!
My oldest is SO CREATIVE! Every time I turn around he has created something new. That dowel rod has been a flag pole (with flag), a fishing pole (with string and fish attached), a bow and arrow (with string and a container of paper arrows), a horse (with horse head of course), a light saber (with lights on each side). Always fully decked out! I think he may have a bit of his Mama in him. 🙂
My husband and I finished out the week by attending a wedding. I loved the ribbon that was tied around the program so I just trimmed it down to fit in the pocket and retied the ribbon around it. Photo booths seem to be a wedding trend right now, so the hubs and I had fun posing with props! Had to include that! 🙂
It’s been a good two weeks! And I’m looking forward to the next two weeks with only scrappy deadlines ahead of me!
