Growing Up

I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to share this layout with you, because I so LOVE it! It’s another sample layout I made for February’s LOAD. I thought it would be fun to document the careers I considered as I was growing up.

  • Design Inspiration: I was so inspired by this layout by Nichol Magouirk. I loved her use of color, and the way the butterflies trickled down the page.
  • Color Inspiration: I wanted to use the colors of the rainbow. And use up as many scraps as I could in the process!

I kept that title simple by adding a few letter stickers in the top block of color. Love how the white letters stand out against so much color!

In each section of color I added a matching brad. It was fun remembering back to the careers I considered as a child.

I dug through a box of old photos and found several of me throughout the years. Helps that as a school teacher I have many adult “school” photos. 🙂

Below the strip of photos I documented the career I actually chose. But now as a stay at home mom I’m asking myself…what to be next?

I considered a lot of the same careers you did! I even had a writer’s group with a friend when I was probably 8 or 9 🙂 Great idea for a layout, I’ve thought about doing growing layouts of my kids, but hadn’t considered taking my own pictures from childhood.
