A Day in the Life of Reunion {Take Twelve}

Every June our family attends a week long church camp called Reunion. I don’t mean we camp in a tent or anything, it’s more like staying in a motel. We have an airconditioned room with two double beds and a bathroom. At Reunion we dine altogether (all 200 of us), we worship together, we attend classes, we nap, we swim, we fish and boat on the lake, we sing around the campfire, and we play games into all hours of the night (after the little ones are in bed). It’s one of our favorite weeks of the year. And this year the twelfth fell during Reunion. I was excited to document a day in the life of Reunion!

  • Design Inspiration: This adorable paper by Studio Calico led my design. But I was inspired with the way Maggie Holmes used it in this layout.
  • Color Inspiration: I wanted to use colors that reminded me of summer. Of course gray was the main color because of the background paper. But I went with red, orange, and green accents.

Thankfully I have an alarm on my phone that reminds me every month on the twelfth. Otherwise I would have forgotten what day it was! It also helped that one of my friends, who was also at Reunion, is participating in Take 12. She reminded me just minutes before my alarm went off. :) I had a camera in my pocket and just started snapping away. I ended up with way more than 12 photos. It was fun trying to decide which 12 gave the most accurate picture of what Reunion is like.

I used a lot of stamping on this page. I stamped my title and added phrases to several of the polaroid photo frames. I’m finding myself using stamps more and more often. I think I have a new love! :)

I kept the journaling simple and just made a list of things we did during the day. I really love how this month’s Take Twelve layout came out! It just may be my favorite so far! AND I was able to document a favorite family tradition. Love that!

Are you participating in Ella’s Take Twelve project? It’s not too late to start! And if you take your photos and link up by the end of today you could win a seat in Nic Howard’s class Dimensional Details at Big Picture Classes! Join me in taking 12 photos on the 12th! I promise you won’t regret it!
