Project Life {Weeks 16 and 17}

I was so busy documenting and sharing Week in the Life photos last week that I didn’t share my Project Life from week 16. So this week I’m going to share two weeks worth of Project Life with you.

Week 16 {before Week in the Life}

This week I had two inserts and lots of photos. Love weeks like that!

Love the mix of photo collages and full size pics! I think it gives such a nice balance to the spread.

Recently I punched a journal block out of one of the grid cards. So this week I backed the negative space with yellow paper and added a sticker. I think it looks so cool!

One event of the week was the first public reading of a portion of the book I wrote. So I decided to include some of the amazing illustrations in my insert. I’m blown away seeing my words come to life through such gorgeous illustrations! I’m not going to show you all the images because they are still in the works, but I wanted to show you a few. 🙂

I have a tip for centering titles. I add the letter stickers to the edge of a ruler and then I can figure out where I want to put the title before sticking it down.

Here’s the right side with a look at my second insert. I cut down a 6×12 page protector to fit this drawing my youngest made. I simply used washi tape to seal the trimmed edge. Worked perfectly!

When he brought me the picture he told me all about it, so I simply scribed his words on the paper and dated it.

After the first picture he came back with a second drawing of his brother (who is wearing a crown because he is the “king” of soccer).

I was a little late getting my Take Twelve photos taken this month. So the photos and spread fell in week 16 rather than week 15 where it should have been. 🙂 Like last month I imitated my Take Twelve layout in miniature form.

Week 16s big story was TRUE SCRAP! So totally cool to be a part of this amazing event. Before too long you’ll be able to purchase my class a la carte! I’ll let you know when it becomes available.

Week 17 {Week in the Life}

I’ve done Week in the Life before, but I’ve never done Project Life and Week in the Life at the same time! I wasn’t exactly sure how to go about doing both at the same time.

I decide to use Project Life to document my favorite photo for each day and let Week in the Life give the depth to the week.

Simple journaling, simple photos, simple spread. My week in the life album will be enough work for this week, I loved that I could keep project life easy!

I wanted to acknowledge the fact that this was Week in the Life so I added a little embellishment cluster at the top of the title card.

Here’s a closer look. I ADORE those wood veneer cameras from Studio Calico (linked below) So awesome!

I made these super fun journaling cards by adding washi tape to the top of each grid journaling card. Then I stuck on a label sticker and stamped the day. LOVE THEM!

Here is the rest of the week. So fun and bright and happy!

And here is the right page all together. Felt like I really went back to the basics this week. So love the flexibility of this project!

    Congrats on your book! Love seeing the illustrations, how exciting for you! Thanks for the sticker title tip too. The journaling cards made with tape and lables are fantastic, lots of good ideas shared in your layouts!
