As you know I’ve been participating in Ella’s Take Twelve challenge. The twelfth of March fell on the first day of spring break around here. So I decided to sit with my boys and photograph some silly faces…12 of them!
- Design Inspiration: I got my original idea to photograph silly faces from this art journal page. My layout design came from one of the layouts in Ella’s Take 12 Inspiration Kit (linked below)
- Color Inspiration: I wanted a neutral background with some blues. I just dug through my papers finding a couple I liked and then found elements to coordinate.
I gotta say it’s not easy to hold two squirmy boys on my lap and then hold the camera out far enough to get us all in.
But we sure had lots of fun and giggles getting these pictures. We have tickling, scary, bunny ears, cool faces, sad, thoughtful, tongue out, frightened, smiles, mad, kissy face, and sleepy. These pics totally make me laugh!
To add some interest I stamped this flower image in three areas. I wanted it to be a light image so I inked the stamp, stamped it off twice on a scrap piece of paper, then stamped it on the layout. Love how it turned out!
I put another stamped cluster at the top.
At the bottom I stamped them into an L shape to frame my journaling cluster.
To finish off the visual triangle of elements I created this embellishment cluster. Stickers, buttons, twine, tags, stamps, and some washi tape on a chipboard flag. So much embellishment fun going on here!
I gotta say I’m still loving Ella’s Take Twelve project! Want to learn more? Check out their information page! It’s not too late to start! Who cares that it’s the 15th, there’s still time to take some photos and enter to win this month’s prize! And it’s a GOOD one! $50 to spend at Persnickety Prints (LOVE that place) Link your project here by midnight EST on Sunday March 18th to be elegible to win! Have fun taking 12!
