Veggie-tarian

My oldest son said the cutest thing the other day. “I think I’m a veggie-tarian like Bubba because veggies are my favorite food.” Bubba is my dad. He was raised a vegan, which was highly unusual for someone raised in the 50s. How awesome is it that my 6 year old sees himself as a vegetarian? As soon as he said it I remembered a photo of my dad with a man made of vegetables. I knew I had to make a layout documenting this story!

  • Design Inspiration: l discovered this adorable layout by LoveAubrey over on the Studio Calico blog. I loved the unique take on a grid.
  • Color Inspiration:Ā I took my color cues from vegetables and nature. I also loved the inspiration layout enough that I used similar colors, but in brighter hues.

For my title I used green thickers. I wish I had centered it a bit better, but done is done. šŸ™‚ To fancy it up a bit I added a circle tag with a green pepper and a label sticker.

Ā To anchor my embellishment cluster I used a transparent green frame. I punched a white ticket and stamped an Ali Edwards sentiment. Then I used Sure Cuts A Lot and my Cricut to cut out the tomatoes. I don’t use my Cricut often, but I just couldn’t pass up the chance to use these adorable veggie svgs! Once I placed a few colorful brads my cluster was done. And so pretty!

SimpleĀ journallingĀ tag and a broccoli embellishment and my page was done. Love having this simple, everyday life story told!
