Awhile back I went to a weekend long crop. While there I decided to make this page about my son and his love of reading. I was especially struck by his recent habit of reading under his covers with a flashlight until quite late. I gotta say, he’s a boy after his Mama’s heart!
- Design Inspiration: Recognize this layout? I recently used it as design inspiration for my Take 12 layout. And my two layouts look very different! Which is what I find awesome about scraplifting!
- Color Inspiration: I knew I wanted to use the yellow alphabet paper for a reading layout. From there I just picked fun coordinating paper.
This is really two 4×6 photos. The top one is a 4×6 collage (I’m loving these right now!) and the bottom one is a regular 4×6. Because these photos spanned several years in time I turned them all black and white. And because I have tagged reading photos with the word “reading” in iPhoto I could easily grab a handful of photos of my son reading (thank you Stacy Julian and Finding Photo Freedom).
At the top of my photo collage I added a little tab to write the beginning of my title. I also added some blue brads to bring that color up to the top of my page.
The wood banner tag completes my title. Love that!
For my journaling I used a library card from Amy Tangerine and simply wrote about my son’s love of books. I just adore this page!

Love the layout! And the library card for journaling, perfect.
Thanks Ruby! I was ridiculously proud of thinking to use that library card.
Happy Friday!
