With my husband due home in the next 24 hours I thought I’d share a layout I made last week all about us! Once again this layout came from Lain Ehmann’s Your Story Matters class. It was also a product of cleaning my craft room because I stumbled on some pictures I hadn’t seen in awhile. Because they were taken at different times and are pre-digital I scanned them in and turned them black and white. Made them much easier to use together on a page.
- Design Inspiration: Once I found the pictures I scanned through my Pinterest board looking for a layout with 3 photos. This one jumped out at me. And I’m so making that 3 someday!!
- Color Inspiration: I bought an Amy Tangerine kit from Big Picture Classes awhile back and I’m LOVING her papers.
The paper already had this cute little embellishment looking cluster on it. I added some gold stickles to the heart to give it a little pop.
To add another embellishment layer I used this round metal rimmed tag. I punched an off white circle and inked the edge before sticking it to the tag. Then I stamped a heart and added some dots with gold stickles. To give it some dimension I used pop dots behind the tag.
These stickers made me crazy! They look cute, but didn’t stick too well. I had to go back and glue them down. Cute, but such a big pain! Lain Ehmann over at Layout a Day recently wrote a whole post ranting about not so sticky letter stickers. I’m with you Lain! It’s time to start a movement to stop the movement of letter stickers!
And here’s my stories. A list of all the things I remember about the week my relationship with my husband changed from friends to something more.
These pics are about 12 years old. I can’t believe how young we both look! Have you ever used older photos on a page? Have any scrappy products that just make you want to scream? Leave me a comment, I’d love to hear all about it!
