Sometimes I make the choice to put my camera down and be fully present in the moment. And other times I do everything I can to capture the moment. This was the scene two years ago when my husband returned from a deployment. Having my camera by my side allowed me to capture not only the waiting prior to his arrival, but also the joy in seeing him again. There have been other reunions since then that I have not photographed. And while in the moment I enjoy not worrying about my camera, I’ve also felt sad later to have no documentation. With that in mind I look forward to my husband’s return once again, hopefully in time for Thanksgiving! And I know that, this time, I’ll have my camera by my side ready to capture the emotion of the day.
